William J. Carter is an experienced American criminal defense attorney He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois and later received his Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law, where he completed rigorous legal training that laid a strong foundation for his criminal law practice.

Early in his career, William served for nearly eight years as an Assistant State’s Attorney, handling a wide range of criminal matters. During this time, he developed a comprehensive understanding of criminal investigations, evidentiary rules, and prosecutorial strategies. This experience gave him deep insight into how cases are built and advanced by the prosecution.

He later transitioned into criminal defense, dedicating his practice to providing high-level defense representation for individuals and corporate clients. Throughout his career, he has successfully handled numerous high-profile criminal cases and has extensive experience in courtroom litigation and jury trials.
